Cooking Gluten-Free: Delicious Recipes and Tips for a Healthy Life
[ad_1] Hello friend! Today I want to talk to you about one of my greatest passions: cooking gluten-free. I know what you're thinking: “Why on earth should I dedicate myself to something like this?”

Hello friend! Today I want to talk to you about one of my greatest passions: gluten-free cooking. I know what you’re thinking: “Why on earth should I dedicate myself to something like that?” Well, let me tell you that there are so many reasons, and believe me, gluten-free cooking can be not only healthy but also super delicious! ????
When I started this gluten-free journey, I was a bit sceptical. I wondered if I would ever be able to enjoy the comfort food I loved so much, like perfectly crafted pizzas and melt-in-your-mouth desserts. But, surprise! Cooking gluten-free is not only possible, it’s also spectacular! Wouldn’t it be fantastic to prepare a dish that makes everyone happy, without sacrificing taste? That’s why today I want to share with you some recipes and useful tips to make every meal a special and healthy moment.
The Magic of Alternative Flours
Let’s start with the most fun part: alternative flours! Yes, because not all flours are created equal, and the world of gluten-free flours is vast and fascinating. Have you ever tried almond flour? It’s perfect for creating soft and fragrant desserts. Or rice flour, which is great for battering fried foods. And let’s not forget chickpea flour: a great ally for making the famous farinata from Liguria.
And if you’re curious, I invite you to explore coconut flour as well, which has a sweet and light flavour, perfect for pancakes and breakfast muffins. Want to know a trick? When using coconut flour, remember that it absorbs a lot of moisture, so you need to increase the liquids in your recipes. If you don’t, you might end up with a final product that’s a bit... dry, and less appealing. Who would ever want a dry pancake, right? ????
Delicious Recipes to Try
Now that we’ve had a taste of the flours, let’s move on to the recipes! I’ll pass my enthusiasm directly into the kitchen, and I assure you that you too can impress your loved ones with extraordinary dishes.
Banana Oatmeal Pancakes
Imagine waking up in the morning and smelling the intoxicating aroma of pancakes cooking! ???? These pancakes don’t take much time and are perfect for a tasty and nutritious breakfast.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of oatmeal flour (make sure it’s certified gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Method:
- Mash the banana in a large bowl and add the eggs. Mix well until you have a smooth mixture.
- Add the oatmeal flour, baking powder, and cinnamon if you like. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
- Heat a non-stick pan and pour in a ladle of batter. Cook until bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip and cook on the other side until golden.
Serve them with a bit of honey and fresh fruit! Isn’t that a dream breakfast? ☁️
Gluten-Free Pizza
Who can resist a good pizza? And what if I told you that your dream of a homemade gluten-free pizza can come true in just a few simple steps? The pizza base can be incredibly versatile. You can use rice flour, but also pre-packaged gluten-free flour mixes that you find in stores.
Ingredients for the base:
- 1 cup of rice flour
- 1/2 cup of tapioca flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Method:
- In a bowl, mix the flours, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the warm water and oil and mix until a dough forms. You may need to add a bit more water, depending on the absorbency of the flours.
- Spread the dough directly onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes, until it hardens.
- Add your tomato, mozzarella, and your preferred toppings, and return to the oven until everything is melted and golden.
Served with a nice glass of wine, it’s a dish that will make everyone at the table happy! ????
