A natural remedy. Light, purifying, pleasant. Can be enjoyed cold. Green tea is perfect for summer days and has always been recognised as a healthy drink, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic properties. It also has a tonic and regenerating effect and can influence mood, helping us during stressful moments.
Perfect against stress!
We are used to drinking tea simply as an infusion. However, let us remember, as with any tea, that the water should not reach a full boil to avoid damaging the tea leaves. Of course, it contains caffeine, although less than black tea, so it is advisable not to exceed 4 cups a day or to adjust consumption according to one's body, reducing the doses in case of insomnia or hypertension. Being unfermented, it retains all its countless properties intact.
Of ancient origins, green tea boasts many varieties, mainly from China and Japan, where this drink is widely consumed, even during or after meals.
Among the most prized varieties is Matcha, primarily used in the traditional tea ceremony. Matcha, with its undeniable beneficial properties, is widely used (also because it comes in powder form) for the preparation of desserts, such as delicate green tea ice cream or for making cakes and biscuits. This variety stands out for its processing method: the leaves are ground into powder before being poured into hot water. Among its properties is the ability to increase concentration and alleviate fatigue, making it suitable for particularly intense moments, at work or while studying.
Another high-quality tea is Sencha, made from steamed leaves that are then rolled before being dried. It is the most consumed variety in Japan, with a pronounced taste, sometimes sour and other times sweet, depending on the temperature of the water in which it is infused. Ideal for those who do not need or want to consume large amounts of caffeine.
