Carbohydrates, Precious for Physical and Mental Well-being
Many decide to eliminate carbohydrates from their diet, perhaps tempted by the speed with which they lose weight. Beware, however, as extremism in diet is not healthy.

Many decide to eliminate carbohydrates from their diet, perhaps tempted by the speed with which they lose weight. Beware, however, as extremism in diet is not healthy. The weight lost is mostly water and muscle mass, not fat. And carbohydrates are essential for our well-being.
Eliminating them to lose weight quickly is wrong and risky
Carbohydrates are indeed a valuable source of energy for the body and the brain. Drastically reducing them can cause imbalances such as fatigue, weakness, and exhaustion. A sort of mental and physical fog. Athletes know that carbohydrates provide immediate energy, the fuel for the day.
Never give up, but alternate with whole products richer in nutrients
Instead of giving up a good plate of pasta or a slice of bread, one can choose to alternate traditional flour products with whole foods on our tables. Whole products help regulate the intestines, are useful in reducing the risk of obesity, and stabilise blood sugar levels. In short, vary, experiment, try but never eliminate. By balancing the variety of foods we bring to our tables, we can achieve equilibrium in our diets. This way, we can take advantage of the goodness in every food. Of course, every diet should be based on a doctor's advice, avoiding the always harmful "do-it-yourself".
Carbohydrates are essential for good mental and physical health
From Kamut flour pasta (great for athletes) to spelt wholemeal pasta (rich in vitamins), to black rice pasta, perfect for combating bad cholesterol and highly digestible. The possibilities are endless, so just experiment!
